Lord, I am ready and waiting on thee
To send a precious child to me.
Please Lord, send a little creature
That I can love, care for and nurture.
A little soul to me entrust
That I will help grow kind and just.
I know in your wisdom you plan for me
And I pray a part of your plan will be
One little child for me to raise
To love you, Lord, and sing your praise,
One little child made just to be
A daughter or a son to me.
