This story involves a pastor of a storefront church. The pastor’s church is called The Almighty God Tabernacle. On a Saturday night not long ago, this pastor was working late, and decided to call his wife before he left for home. It was about 10:00 PM, but his wife didn’t answer the phone. The pastor let it ring many times. He thought it was odd that she didn’t answer, but decided to wrap up a few things and try again in a few minutes.

When he tried again she answered right away. He asked her why she hadn’t answered before, but she said that it hadn’t rang at their house. They brushed it off as a fluke and didn’t give it a second thought.

The following Monday, the pastor received a call at the church office, which was the phone that he’d used that Saturday night.

The man that he spoke with wanted to know why he’d called on Saturday night. The pastor couldn’t figure out what the guy was talking about. Then the guy said, “It rang and rang, but I didn’t answer. “The pastor then remembered the mishap and apologized for disturbing him, explaining that he intended to call his wife.

The man said, “That’s OK. Let me tell you my story. You see, I was planning to commit suicide on Saturday night, but before I did, I prayed, ‘God if you’re there, and you don’t want me to do this, give me a sign now.’ At that point my phone started to ring. I looked at the caller ID, and it said, ‘Almighty God’. I was too afraid to answer!”

I am a minister and saw this experience in 2006. I was moved by it and shared it with my new congregation the first Sunday in my sermon. In the church service was the children of a sister who was in hospital after she tried to commit suiside the previous Saturday night. Her suicide attempt was not successful. The children visited their mother directly after the divine service and related the new minister’ experience re “The Holy God ….”. The sister later on after recovery told me that she was going to retry the suicide attempt, but made a decision to stop thinking of it after she herd the above experience. She is still alive today and very happy in the Lord’s House. The above experience has saved another sister’s life

  • Oh My God! I am having goosebumps! God is really really good. You are right Mike in letting God decide for your life. We can not do anything without his help, we need Him because He is our God! The God who is capable of doing many things to make His servants more blessed.

There has been a couple of times that i have tried suicide because of the troubles that i felt in my life . The trouble that i have playing over and over in my head sometimes is when i was about 8, when i was constantly sexually abused by a older brother, but when i was brave enough to tell mother at the age of 15 it was like i was not telling the truth, that really when my life fell apart. I use to hold it against her but i later as i grew older learned to let it go and forgive her and give it to God. I was a hinderance to my own life not being able receive all my blessing by continuing to torment my life for all these years. God is a good God as well as a healer. It takes strength to survive,It takes courage to live.
