Note: at the end of today’s Portion of Bible Text, you will find my thoughts on the verses. B.K.)
39 And of the blue, and purple, and scarlet, they made cloths of service, to do service in the holy place, and made the holy garments for Aaron; as the Lord commanded Moses.
2 And he made the ephod of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.
3 And they did beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in the blue, and in the purple, and in the scarlet, and in the fine linen, with cunning work.
K.J.V. Bible Text
All of the Daily readings have been long lately so today I am going to make it short. I chose to read only three verses, but I found the third verse very interesting.
The description of the making of gold wires, apparently to be used as a type of thread for embroidery work is what interests me so much. Can you imagine beating gold so thin that you could then cut it into wires? The Lord did indeed impart upon these workmen amazing skills.
