Broken Dreams

As children bring their broken toys
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God
Because He was my friend.

But then instead of leaving Him
In peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
With ways that were my own.

At last I snatched them back and cried,
“How could you be so slow”
“My child,” He said, “What could I do?
You never did let go.”

Hi! I am soooo encouraged by your poems! God led me to you this morning while I was searching for the Poem Bicycle Ride with God. I saw this poem that I haven’t sen in years! I encourage others in their relationship with Jesus through sharing poems and short stories that I call encouragements through facebook and e-mail. Is it alright for me to share these encouragements? I share where I found these encouragements so people will be directed to you! I hope to hear from you soon! God Bless you!

Thank you for putting this poem online,
It is one of my favorites
For years I have attended craft fairs
And have tried to find someone who does
framed prints that has this poem
    Some day I’ll find it

Letting go is the hardest thing a human being will ever do
