The Bible, One Day at a Time with Betty Killebrew
There is much that is troubling about today’s world; yet some people seem so much more content than others. They are calmer, worry less; and whether they are successful in financial terms or not, they seem to be satisfied with their lives.
Contentment is an alien notion to many of us who are constantly striving for more status, more wealth, more things. So who are these people who are content with their lot in life?
After some thought, I realized that the single element shared by the most contented people I encounter is belief in—and trust in–God.
I decided God and I should have a closer relationship. That’s why I began my bible reading project. As we live in today’s world, I chose to read from “Today’s New International Version” of the bible. To establish a closer connection with the text, I decided to read a little every day and write my thoughts about what I have read.
My journey will take a long time and I would enjoy company along the way. I invite you to join me as I read and to share your own thoughts if you wish.
