  • You’re Very Special to Me

    To You Just Because…. You’re Very Special to Me
    I want this message to put a smile on your face.
    I want it to remind you that you have been on my mind.
    I want it to tell you that I think you’re wonderful.
    I want it to be a beautiful part of this day.

    And I want it to help you remember -every time you remember it in the days yet to be - that this message was sent to you…

    just because
    you’re very special to me.

    It’s wond’rous what a
    hug can do. A hug can
    cheer you when you’re blue. A
    hug can say, “I love you so”
    or, “Gee I hate to see you go”.
    A hug is, “Welcome back again!”
    and “Great to see you!” or
    “Where’ve you been?”A hug can
    soothe a small child’s pain and
    bring a rainbow after rain. The
    hug! There’s just no doubt
    about it, we scarcely could
    survive without it. No longer
    do you have to worry, for a hug
    is the way to say “I’m sorry.”
    A hug delights and warms and charms,
    it must be why we all have arms.
    Hugs are great for Fathers and
    Mothers sweet for Sister, swell
    for Brothers. Chances are some
    favorite Aunts love them more
    than potted plants. Kittens
    crave them. Puppies love them.
    Heads of State are not above
    them.A hug can break the
    language barrier and make the
    dullest day seem merrier. No
    need to fret about the store of
    ‘em. The more you give the more
    there are of ‘em. So stretch
    those arms without delay, and
    GIVE SOMEONE A HUG TODAY!

  • With Friends

    by Susan Flosence

    If there is one ingredient in which adds warmth and love to our lives…it is friendship. If there is one relationship to help us through all the others…it is friendship. Friends surround us with the beauty of their caring. With friends we can share what we see, what we feel and what we love. Friends help us with our problems because they listen. And as they listen we begin to hear the language of our own hearts. With friends we can walk along the remembered paths of our lives and completely share our experiences. With friends we can work the soil of forgotten dreams that needed to be tended and nurtured once again. With friends we can plant the seed of our hearts new dreams. We can always return to a friend like going back to a special place…and find the same warm feeling unchanged by time or distance. Life gives us friends so we can share the prescious times and memorable moments of being children, and teenagers, and adults, and parents, and grandparents. Life gives us friends so we can share the growing up…and growing down and old. With friends we have a place to go to be accepted and understood. Together we can laugh. Together we can cry. Our thoughts are heard, our feelings are held in the heart of a friend. With friends our lives are made more full, more rich, more open, beautiful and blessed!!!!!

  • To my Husband’s Ex-Wife

    by Valerie Seaton (Used with Permission)

    I wrote this poem for someone who has became a very, very dear friend to me. My husband’s ex-wife. We chose to forget the past and to give each other a fresh start, just as Jesus did for us.

    For Teresa from Val

    You cannot judge another when you look beyond what’s seen.
    For out of hurt and anger, we do things that we don’t mean.

    But in the eyes of forgiveness, there’s always a ray of light,
    A chance to make things better, a chance to make things right.

    For when you choose the path of love and refuse to act in hate,
    You’ve started down the wonderful road that leads straight to Heaven’s gate.

    From time to time as you travel that road, God gives you a special friend.
    One who knows you in and out and stays through thick and thin.

    I thank the Lord every single day for putting us on the same road.
    You always lift my spirits and help to lighten my load.

    It’s true they say our friendship’s rare, some even call it weird,
    how the two of us have done this thing that others tend to fear.

    We’ve looked beyond the picture painted by strokes of hurt and tears,
    and chose to look toward the future, seeing many happy years.

    There’s no need to question our friendship. I know why we’re so close.
    Because when God gives a gift, it’s never the least. He always gives the most.

    I never came to you, my friend,
    and went away without
    some new enrichment of the heart;
    More faith and less of doubt,
    more courage in the days ahead.
    And often in great need
    coming to you, I went away
    comforted indeed.
    How can I find the shining word,
    the glowing phrase that tells
    all that your love has meant to me,
    all that your friendship spells?
    There is no word, no phrase for you
    on whom I so depend.
    All I can say to you is this,
    God bless you precious friend.

    The world is moving faster now;
    We’re on a changing course.
    But you have helped me deal with life;
    You’ve been a stable force.

    When I have had to follow;
    New directions, you were there.
    When the world was hard on me;
    You always seemed to care.

    When nothing held together;
    Made the slightest bit of sense.
    You have always helped restore;
    My inner confidence.

    Everyone needs someone;
    Who’s reliable and true.
    Through the moments I’ve endured;
    I’m grateful there was you.

    Written with a pen.
    Sealed with a kiss.
    If you are my friend,
    please answer this:

    Are we friends?
    Or are we not?
    You told me once
    But I forgot.

    So tell me now
    And tell me true.
    So I can say….
    “I’m here for you.”

    Of all the friends
    I’ve ever met,
    You’re the one
    I won’t forget.

    And if I die
    Before you do,
    I’ll go to heaven
    And wait for you.

    I’ll give the angels
    Back their wings
    And risk the loss
    Of everything.

    Just to prove my
    friendship is true..
    to have a friend like you!
