The Search

Where are you?
The daily search of my life.
The only one who I will give my heart to.
The one I have been looking for, and always will, until that day comes.
The day when I find you.
You are… unexplainable, unpredictable, unimaginable.
How I wait to know you.
Know your name.
Know who you are.

For I pray the day come soon.
The day I discover you.
The day when all searching is over, and I know you are “the one”.
How I long for this day.
Wanting it, to keep me from the tears at night.
Save me the pain inside, of loving anyone but you.
Stop me from wanting it.
Keep me from the desires of the world.

In my prayers, will you remain.
Praying for you, whoever you may be.
And will continue to, until the day you are found.
Asking the God of my soul to watch over you all the days of your life.
Praying your heart be dedicated to Jesus Christ,
so through you, I will richly be
strengthened in the faith I live my life for.
In you, I pray God will remain always.

The search will go on.
The day has yet to come.
My soul waits for you, longing for you.
Never giving up, I have faith.
I believe.
I will find you.
God will send you to me.
So the search will go on, until you, my love, is finally discovered

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.  As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said, “I don’t believe that God exists.”

“Why do you say that?” asked the customer.

“Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn’t exist.  Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can’t imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things.”

The customer thought for a moment, but didn’t respond because he didn’t want to start an argument.  The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.

Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber, “You know what? Barbers do not exist.”

“How can you say that?” asked the surprised barber.  “I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!”

“No!” the customer exclaimed. “Barbers don’t exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside.”

“Ah, but barbers DO exist! That’s what happens when people do not come to me.”

“Exactly!” affirmed the customer. “That’s the point! God, too, DOES exist! That’s what happens when people do not go to Him and don’t look to Him for help. That’s why there’s so much pain and suffering in the world.”

Ruth went to her mail box and there was only one letter. She picked it up and looked at it before opening, but then she looked at the envelope again. There was no stamp, no postmark, only her name and address. She read the letter:Dear Ruth,

I’m going to be in your neighborhood Saturday afternoon and I’d like to stop by for a visit.

    Love Always,
    Jesus

Her hands were shaking as she placed the letter on the table. “Why would the Lord want to visit me? I’m nobody special. I don’t have anything to offer.” With that thought, Ruth remembered her empty kitchen cabinets. “Oh my goodness, I really don’t have anything to offer. I’ll have to run down to the store and buy something for dinner.”

She reached for her purse and counted out its contents. Five dollars and forty cents. “Well, I can get some bread and cold cuts, at least.” She threw on her coat and hurried out the door. A loaf of french bread, a half-pound of sliced turkey, and a carton of milk…leaving Ruth with a grand total of twelve cents to last her until Monday.

Nonetheless, she felt as she headed home, her meager offerings tucked under her arm.”Hey lady, can you help us, lady?” Ruth had been so absorbed in herdinner plans, she hadn’t even noticed two figures huddled in the alleyway. A man and a woman, both of them dressed in little more than rags.

Look lady, I ain’t got a job, ya know, and my wife and I have been living out here on the street, and, well, now it’s getting cold and we’re getting kinda hungry and, well, if you could help us, lady, we’d really appreciate it.” Ruth looked at them both. They were dirty, they smelled bad and, frankly, she was certain that they could get some kind of work if they really wanted to. “Sir, I’d like to help you, but I’m a poor woman myself. All I have is a few cold cuts and some bread, and I’m having an important guest for dinner tonight and I was planning on serving that to Him.”

“Yeah, well, OK lady, I understand. Thanks anyway.”

The man put his arm around the woman’s shoulders, turned and headed back into the alley. As she watched them leave, Ruth felt a familiar twinge in her heart. “Sir, wait!” The couple stopped and turned as she ran down the alley after them. “Look, why don’t you take this food. I’ll figure out something else to serve my guest.” She handed the man her grocery bag. “Thank you lady. Thank you very much!” “Yes, thank you!” It was the man’s wife, and Ruth could see now that she was shivering.

“You know, I’ve got another coat at home. Here, why don’t you take this one.” Ruth unbuttoned her jacket and slipped it over the woman’s shoulders. Then smiling, she turned and walked back to the street…without her coat and with nothing to serve her guest. “Thank you lady! Thank you very much!” Ruth was chilled by the time she reached her front door, and worried too. The Lord was coming to visit and she didn’t have anything to offer Him. She fumbled through her purse for the door key. But as she did, she noticed another envelope in her mailbox. “That’s odd. The mailman doesn’t usually come twice in one day.” She took the envelope out of the box and opened it.

    Dear Ruth,

It was so good to see you again. Thank you for the lovely meal. And thank you, too, for the beautiful coat.

    Love Always,
    Jesus

The air was still cold, but even without her coat, Ruth no longer noticed.

  • Giveaway: 2 Free Tickets To See The Ten Commandments Movie

Here is your chance to see the new “The Ten Commandments” movie with a friend.  This movie contains stunning scenery and a the most faithful biblical account of the story of the exodus that has ever been in theaters.  The story does much to convey a real sense of the suffering that happened in Egypt under the plagues, the sense of loss after the passover, and terrible attitude of the Israelites after they went into the desert.  I was especially impressed the the sense of awe and wonder whenever Moses comes into the presence of God in the movie.

What you will find missing from this movie is the silly Hollywood style banter that you usually find in animated movies.  Much of the dialog flows straight from the scriptures leaving little room for practical jokes and side comments you will find in other movies.  What we are left with is a film  that properly portrays the feeling and emotion of the exodus through stunning and beautiful visual effects.  You can find more info on this movie including trailers and behind the scenes footage at http://www.epicstoriesofthebible.com

By now, I am sure you want to find out about the giveaway.  Here are the details.

How do you get your free tickets to The Ten Commandments movie?

(We have changed the terms of the contest to make it easier for more people to enter.)

    • Send an email to giveaway@inspirationalarchive.com
    • You must include your name and address in the email so that we can send you the tickets right away if you win.
    • Entries will only be accepted from US and Canadian addresses.
    • Winners will be chosen at random from all entries.
    • You may make one entry per person or email address.
    • Entries must be received by Midnight Thursday, October 18th, 2007.
    • We are giving away 10 sets of tickets.

Why are we doing the contest this way? We want to get the word out as much as possible about this awesome movie with real biblical grounding.  There are 12 movies planned in this series, and the success of this first movie will help to improve the future movies in the series.  Plus, we want to send Hollywood a clear message that we want to see more moral movies and more truly biblical stories come to the big screen.  Please let all your friends know about our contest and about the movie.  Also, if enough people enter this contest, then we will be able to do more contests like this in the future, so pass the word on.

Also, be sure to subscribe to our RSS feed so that you will be able to see the winners announced at the end of the week, and be sure to go see this movie this weekend, even if you don’t win.

  • Roses For Rose

Red roses were her favorites, her name was also Rose.
And every year her husband sent them, tied with pretty bows.
The year he died, the roses were delivered to her door.
The card said, “Be my Valentine,” like all the years before.
Each year he sent her roses, and the note would always say,
“I love you even more this year, than last year on this day.”
“My love for you will always grow, with every passing year.”
She knew this was the last time that the roses would appear.
She thought, he ordered roses in advance before this day.
Her loving husband did not know, that he would pass away.
He always liked to do things early, way before the time.
Then, if he got too busy, everything would work out fine.
She trimmed the stems, and placed them in a very special vase.
Then, sat the vase beside the portrait of his smiling face.
She would sit for hours, in her husband’s favorite chair.
While staring at his picture, and the roses sitting there.
A year went by, and it was hard to live without her mate.
With loneliness and solitude, that had become her fate.
Then, the very hour, as on Valentines before,
The doorbell rang, and there were roses, sitting by her door.
She brought the roses in, and then just looked at them in shock.
Then, went to get the telephone, to call the florist shop.
The owner answered, and she asked him, if he would explain,
Why would someone do this to her, causing her such pain?
“I know your husband passed away, more than a year ago,”
The owner said, “I knew you’d call, and you would want to know.”
“The flowers you received today, were paid for in advance.”
“Your husband always planned ahead, he left nothing to chance.”
“There is a standing order, that I have on file down here,
And he has paid, well in advance, you’ll get them every year.
There also is another thing, that I think you should know,
He wrote a special little card…he did this years ago.”
“Then, should ever, I find out that he’s no longer here,
That’s the card…that should be sent, to you the following year.”
She thanked him and hung up the phone, her tears now flowing hard.
Her fingers shaking, as she slowly reached to get the card.
Inside the card, she saw that he had written her a note.
Then, as she stared in total silence, this is what he wrote…
“Hello my love, I know it’s been a year since I’ve been gone,
I hope it hasn’t been too hard for you to overcome.”
“I know it must be lonely, and the pain is very real.
For if it was the other way, I know how I would feel.
The love we shared made everything so beautiful in life.
I loved you more than words can say, you were the perfect wife.”
“You were my friend and lover, you fulfilled my every need.
I know it’s only been a year, but please try not to grieve.
I want you to be happy, even when you shed your tears.
That is why the roses will be sent to you for years.”
“When you get these roses, think of all the happiness,
That we had together, and how both of us were blessed.
I have always loved you and I know I always will.
But, my love, you must go on, you have some living still.”
“Please…try to find happiness, while living out your days.
I know it is not easy, but I hope you find some ways.
The roses will come every year, and they will only stop,
When your door’s not answered, when the florist stops to knock.”
“He will come five times that day, in case you have gone out.
But after his last visit, he will know without a doubt,
To take the roses to the place, where I’ve instructed him,
And place the roses where we are, together once again.”

Bennet Cerf relates this touching story about a bus that was bumping along a back road in the South. In one seat a wispy old man sat holding a bunch of fresh flowers. Across the aisle was a young girl whose eyes came back again and again to the man’s flowers. This time came for the old man to get off. Impulsively he thrust the flowers into the girl’s lap. “I can see you love the flowers,” he explained, “and I think my wife would like for you to have them. I’ll tell her I gave them to you.” The girl accepted the flowers, then watched the old man get off the bus and walk through the gate of a small cemetery.

Everyone longs to give themselves completely to someone, To have a deep soul relationship with another, To be loved thoroughly and exclusively, But God to a Christian says: “No, not until you are satisfied, fulfilled, and content With giving yourself totally and unreservedly to Me, With having an intensely personal and unique Relation with Me alone, Discovering that only in Me is your satisfaction to be found, Will you be capable of the perfect relationship That I have planned for you. You will never be united With another until you are united with Me, Exclusive of any other desires or longings. I want you to stop planning, stop wishing, And allow Me to give you the most thrilling plan existing One that you cannot imagine. I want you to have the best. Please allow Me to give it to you. You just keep watching Me, expecting the greatest things; Keep experiencing the satisfaction that I AM; Keep listening and learning the things that I tell you. You just wait, Do not be anxious, do not worry, Do not look at the things you want; You just keep looking off and the way up to Me Or you will miss what I want to show you. the one I have for you is ready (I am working even at this moment to Have both ready at the same time), Until you are both satsisfied exclusively With ME and the life that I have prepared for you, You will not be able to experience the love that exemplifies Your relationship with Me, And this is the Perfect Love. And dear one, I want you to have this most wonderful love. I want you to see in the flesh a picture of your Relationship with Me, and to enjoy Materially and concretely, The everlasting union of beauty, perfectness, And love that I offer you with Myself. Know that I love you utterly. I am God. Believe, and be satisfied.”
