In the Stillness

I see the light
and his truth therein.
I hear his voice in
The whispering wind.
I gaze upon the mountaintops
and I see his majesty.
I walk through the woods
and feel his presence deep within myself.
I stand in awe of the world in which I live,
and in the stillness, I know he is God.

    What Is…
    What is within …
What is within the depths of my soul …
    What is …

    What created what is.

    What lies without …
What lies in the serenity of a morning
hike through the forest, along side a
    mountain stream, slowly and steadily
cascading a bed of mountain stone.
What is mighty and majestic as
the roar and tumble of the ocean’s
    tide at storm.
What is as gentle as the touch of the gardener,
    tending the rose.

    What is …

    Gentle, Calm, Mighty,
and Majestic from the depths of my soul
    to the world around me…

    God is All-Surrounding.

    Magnificent, Unfathomable, Astonishing…
    His vastness is beyond comprehension…
    His mercy unceasing …
    His love…undying.

    My strength cometh from the Lord;
and I walk ever so humbly by faith.
Though I am weak in fleshly appearance
by body …and sometimes mind and body -
my spirit is strong. It is rooted deep in the
heavens of faith in that which I cannot see, but
know is there. I have stood in awe at the
representation of God’s love in nature…deep
within forests and atop views of mountains. With
certainty I have seen the simplicity and beauty of
Christ’s love manifested in the heart of
a friend and the laughter of children…as beautiful as an
    Easter Lily’s Bloom.

(Stephen Lawrence and David Axelrod) (sung by Kermit the Frog)

    If I were a poet,
    I would write a sonnet.
It would say “I love you.”
Your name would be upon it.
    If I were a farmer,
    I’d give you a bunny.
    If I had a beehive,
    You would get free honey.
    Fa la la (many times)

    If I were a baker,
    You could have a cruller
    If I were a painter,
    Choose your favorite color.
    If I had some diamonds,
    I’d give you a few,
    Anything to show you
    How much I love you.
    Fa la la, etc.

    Did you guess my secret?
    I am not a poet.
    Couldn’t write a sonnet,
And I think you know it.
    I am not a farmer,
    Can’t give you a bunny.
    I don’t have a beehive,
    Sorry ’bout the honey.
    Fa la la, etc.

    I am not a baker,
    Don’t know bread from batter.
And I am not a painter,
    And it doesn’t matter.
    I don’t need a present,
    All I have to do
Is look at you to show you
    How much I love you.
    Fa la la, etc.
